Diocese of Rockville Centre Starting Support Group for Abuse Victims Print E-mail

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NEW YORK August 31, 2004 - The Diocese of Rockville Centre will start a support group for survivors of sexual abuse by clergy and other church personnel. The sessions are scheduled to start September 20, 2004.

“We’re responding to a need voiced by some survivors of abuse who said they would find a support group helpful in bringing about healing,” said Eileen F. Puglisi, director of the Office for the Protection of Children and Young People.

The Diocese of Rockville Centre was formed in 1957 and covers 1,222 square miles in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
