Charles Wang Met at St. Martha’s, Uniondale with Local Residents to Rally Support for Lighthouse Project
Effort Continues with “Just Build It” Rally on August 4
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – 3 August 2009 – Answering questions about issues ranging from traffic congestion to taxes, businessman Charles Wang met in June with local residents at St. Martha’s Church, Uniondale, to seek support for his proposed The Lighthouse on Long Island Project. Wang is the founder of Computer Associates (CA) and owner of the New York Islanders hockey team. Bishop William Murphy asked Msgr. Frank Caldwell, pastor of St. Martha’s to invite Mr. Wang to come to the parish to explain the project.
The effort to garner public support continues with a “Just Build It!” Rally and March tomorrow, August 4, 2009 at Nassau Coliseum. Starting at 8:00 AM in the Coliseum parking lot, leaders from the surrounding communities, labor as well as fans and supporters of the project will rally and march to a Lighthouse project hearing at the Adams Playhouse on the campus of Hofstra University
The public hearing is the time to let your voice be heard. The Town of Hempstead has offered several ways for the public to comment on the project. You can comment via email at email@example.com or in a letter to Lighthouse Project Public Comment, One Washington Street, Hempstead, NY 11550.
