West Islip, NY – Joseph Loiacono, formerly vice president of program development for Catholic Health Services (CHS), has joined the management team at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center as a vice president of administration.  In his previous role at CHS, of which Good Samaritan is a member, he had Joseph Loiaconochampioned many important strategic initiatives.  CHS is an integrated health care delivery system with six hospitals, three nursing homes, a regional home care and hospice group and a community-based agency for persons with special needs.

Mr. Loiacono’s accomplishments include the integration of South Bay Cardiology Associates into CHS, the development of health programs for the uninsured, the coordination of the business office in Melville and he served as executive champion to the team that established the supply chain function–which saved the system millions of dollars.  Before joining CHS, he held various leadership positions over a span of 24 years with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.  He received his bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from Long Island University and a master’s degree specializing in strategic management from Pace University.
       
In this new position at Good Samaritan, Mr. Loiacono is responsible for a wide scope of services such as admitting, housekeeping, nutrition and food services, the print shop, transport, grounds, biomedical engineering, plant engineering, the power plant, security, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, pulmonary rehabilitation and cardiology.  He resides in Huntington Station with his wife, Susan, and their two children.
