CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT


WHAT:  Bishop Murphy to Celebrate Annual Red Mass

The Red Mass marks the traditional opening of the judicial year.  During this Mass, all members of the legal community, including judges, governmental officials, attorneys, legal staff, paralegals and law school faculty are reminded of the power they possess and request God’s guidance in administering their office of position with wisdom, justice, fortitude, compassion and counsel.

All members of the public are invited to this Mass.  All judges, law school deans and professors, and government officials are invited to join in the Mass and participate in the procession led by the New York State Court Officers, Color Guard, members of the judiciary and the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre.

Reception and Dinner immediately following at Chaminade High School’s Activity-Athletic Center, located on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, New York.  Admission fee for the dinner is $100.

 

WHO:    The Most Reverend William Murphy, bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre,
              will be the principal celebrant and homilist.

Rev. James C. Williams, S. M. Chaminade High School president from July 1999-July 2011 and;

The Honorable Joseph F. Bianco, United States District Judge, Eastern District of New York will be the distinguished honorees.
