Rockville Centre, NY – Catholic Health Services (CHS) has named Mary Nummelin system director for organization effectiveness. Nummelin brings extensive experience in culture transformation, employee engagement and operational process improvement to CHS. Founder of The Locus Group, she has held executive posts at a variety of organizations, identifying and implementing strategies to attain high-performance practices.
“Mary is an accomplished professional with a proven track record in process improvement, leadership development and employee engagement,” said CHS’s Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Tony Pellicano. “Her experience and expertise will be a valuable asset as we work to cultivate a work environment that values a high degree of collaboration, teamwork and a commitment to excellence.”
Before launching The Locus Group, Nummelin was vice president for Polar Electro, Inc., which develops fitness assessment technology, contributing to the company’s being selected as one of the “Best Companies to Work for in NY” in 2010 and 2011 by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group. Prior to that, she was vice president of human resources at Ipsos North America and director of human resources for Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc.
In addition to holding a master’s degree from SUNY Stony Brook, Nummelin has certification in Meyers Briggs Type Indicator, American Society for Quality Six Sigma Champion®, Linkage® Executive Coach and other proficiencies. A Huntington resident, she has taught at SUNY Stony Brook and Suffolk County Community College.
