So You’ve Graduated College…Now What?
With “CathUNet” Young, Catholic College Graduates on Long Island now have a place just for them
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – October 31, 2013 – Whereas their parishes may have provided a second home in their childhood or adolescence, and college life was filled with venues for unmatched closeness and friendship, many Catholic twenty-somethings on Long Island are now searching about for community. They seek relationships that can bring out the best gifts of their youth and maturity, a venue where they can share their lives with others of their own age and situation.
The Diocese of Rockville Centre Office of New Evangelization, is happy to inaugurate CathUNet, specifically for post-college young adults, aged 21-27, with events designed to allow them to connect with others who are seeking community, spirituality, service opportunities and—why not?—fun.
CathUNet’s first event will be “What Are You Waiting For?”, a day of reflection at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The day includes prayer, fellowship, a talk, small-group discussions, lunch and celebration of the Eucharist. On this eve of the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of the new liturgical year, post-grads are urged to bring their gifts, aspirations, and creativity to this new initiative which will yield blessings for themselves and for the whole Church.
R.S.V.P is required: Tel. 347-341-0294, email firstname.lastname@example.org or join the Facebook group CathUNet. Cost is $20 per person.
