Jason M. Golbin, DO, MS, FCCP, FACP, has been named the new chief medical officer (CMO) for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services (CHS). Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine and sleep medicine, Golbin was most recently associate director of critical care medicine at CHS’s Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. He succeeds Patrick M. O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA, FACEP, who is now CMO for all of CHS.
“With his energy expertise and proven leadership skills, Dr. Golbin will be a tremendous asset to St. Catherine of Siena and our system,” said CHS’s Chief Operating Officer Dennis Verzi.
In addition to Good Samaritan, Golbin has been a pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine physician at the Long Island Lung Center. Prior to that, he was on staff at the Albert Lea Medical Center, Austin Medical Center and Winona Community Memorial Hospital, all in Minnesota. Golbin completed his fellowship at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and his chief residency at Lenox Hill Hospital after an internship at St. Vincent’s Midtown Hospital. He earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine after receiving his master’s in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University.
A member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Chest Physicians and American College of Physician Executives, Golbin has taught at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Good Samaritan, Mayo Clinic, Pace University and many conferences. He also has extensive mentoring experience and has given workshops on a wide array of areas. In addition, Golbin has published articles in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, CHEST, Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology and other journals, as well as abstracts and book chapters.
Golbin resides in Syosset with his wife, Elina.
