Annual Black-Tie Fund-Raiser Will Honor

Rockville Centre, NY –The Friends of Mercy Medical Center will hold their 48th Annual Gentlemen’s St. Patrick’s Dinner on Thursday, March 13th at the Rockville Links.
The honoree at the black-tie event will be Gregory F. Burke, he is a lifelong resident of Garden City where he resides with his wife Christine, and sons Charlie and Brian. Greg is President of Lane Office, a distributor of office furniture and a modular interior construction firm in New York City.
Greg was so impressed with the quality of the care from the medical and nursing staff at Mercy, he added the hospital to his list of many charities. Greg’s latest initiative at Mercy is to help fund the new Pediatric Express Care Unit.
The honored guest speaker will be Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, he resides in Bethpage with his wife, Linda, and two sons, Salvatore and Alexander.
The chairmen of this year’s event are Christopher J. Kearns of Rockville Centre, Stephen McLoughlin of Rockville Center and Jeffrey Mulhall of Garden City.
The St. Patrick’s Dinner is one of the Friends most convivial events and will include the presentation of the proceeds of The Friends’ 2013 fundraising activities, which were pledged to support hospital’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and The Department of Imaging.
The Friends of Mercy was founded in 1935 as an organization of men dedicated to volunteering their time and efforts to raise funds for the advancement of medical and surgical care for the patients of Mercy Medical Center as well as construction at Mercy. The Friends raise funds by sponsoring the St. Patrick’s Dinner, a Golf Outing and The Mercy Ball (www.MercyBall.com) held each year on the first Saturday in December. In the past five years, the Friends have raised over $1.5 million to support hospital facilities, programs and services.
