ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – October 25, 2015 – In recognition of his service to the Church and the diocese, the Most Reverend William Murphy, bishop, Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, conferred Papal honors upon Eric Anderson, Manager of Construction and Renovation, Diocese of Rockville Centre on Sunday, October 25, 2015 during the Saint Agnes Medal Awards Service held at the Cathedral of Saint Agnes, Rockville Centre, New York.
Honored for his faithful service to the Church, Anderson received the Cross Pro-Ecclesia et Pontifice, Latin for “Cross of the Church and the Pontiff,” bestowed by the Pope to either the laity or clergy. Recipients are known for their extraordinary, virtuous, public witness to the Catholic faith.
“I want to thank Bishop Murphy and the Holy Father for the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal,” said Anderson. “I am humbled by the acknowledgement of my work within Diocesan Construction, which has offered the opportunity for me to work with the parishes and people of the Diocese on many satisfying mission-driven projects.”
