"Only by adoring God who is present in his or her own heart can the baptized Christian respond to the person who 'asks you for a reason for your hope' (1 Peter 3:15).  And the young Frassati knew it, felt it, lived it."    Pope John Paul II, 5/20/90

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati lived his life in constant adoration of God, whether in his heart or in regular prayer in front of the Eucharist.  He had a particular devotion to adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and it was this love of God which was behind all of his actions.

Our love for Christ must also be a strong motivator of our actions, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is a beautiful way to increase that love.  When we are sitting alone in the presence of God our souls can be fed by the riches of Christ's love ("I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance" - John 10:10).  Adoration is more than just "quiet time", it is actually our hearts being permeated with an infusion of God's grace.   And, just as with anyone we love, time together only strengthens the bond between us and God.

Make time spent with God in the Blessed Sacrament part of your day.  The Saints knew this "secret" of a joyful, holy life, and we, too, can be blessed with it's gifts.

Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
