“When all accept Christ’s voice and teaching, we will be able to say we are all equal, and every difference between human beings will be annulled.”  PGF

Equality is something which has escaped humanity's grasp.  It has been fought for, despaired over and dreamed about.  Still, inequality is evident everywhere in the world between classes, genders and races.   Bl. Pier Giorgio believed, along with St. Paul, that Christ is the great equalizer, and that only through faith in Him will we be one:  “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  Galatians 3:26-28

Sometimes it is difficult to believe that God can love all of us the same, that we are all truly equal in His eyes.  It is beyond our human understanding, as we all have preferences in friends and family.  We favor people for their personalities, looks, education, talents, etc.  We look up to some and (whether or not we want to admit it) down on others.   That’s human nature, and it's not always pretty; but God’s ways are higher than ours.  Through His eyes we are all beloved, all cherished, all treasured!  And when we all finally accept the gift of Christ, we, too, will see everyone through His eyes.

Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
