SUMMARY of POSITION 

Parish of the Holy Cross, located in Nesconset, is seeking a fulltime Business and Facilities Manager. The selected individual will responsible for all aspects of Finance, IT, Parish facility maintenance, Human Resources, other duties as assigned by the Pastor. The full scope of the position includes being a member of the Pastoral Team which oversees all activities in the life of the parish, including all financial reporting and functions. You will regularly interact with parishioners as well as answer phones. Excellent people skills are essential. The individual should possess full knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and its teachings and applications in the daily life of a Catholic Parish.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Coordinate activities with Bookkeeper
• Coordination and submission of financial reports to the Diocese

IT/Computers
• Understanding of a network and related activities
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to trouble shoot small issues as they occur
• Ability to discuss & resolve issues with technical vendors

Facilities Maintenance
• Coordinate outside vendors for parish facilities
• Review contracts with contracted maintenance vendors
• Hire appropriate vendors to address improvements and repairs
• Review and evaluate maintenance issues with Custodian on all Parish facilities
• Coordinate with Diocese regarding risk management, insurance, and other legal matters pertaining to the facilities of the church and rectory

Human Resources
• Prepare and oversee payroll
• Monitor employee work hours, schedules, days off and raises
• Recordkeeping of all Human Resource activities
• Work with Pastor in overseeing hiring of new employees
• Coordinate and participate in Human Resource activities as designated by the Diocese
• Coordinate and work with Chairpersons of various committees on different campaigns as necessary

Other Responsibilities
• Oversee paperwork for volunteers and ministers, including all related paperwork.
• Report periodic Mass attendance as required by the Diocese
• Assist with scheduling and administration of Ministerial activities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years managerial experience and/or professional experience in a similar or same capacity. Applicant must be willing to function in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, the Diocese of Rockville Centre and the Parish of Holy Cross.
