Planned Giving

As stewards, we choose to live our lives in thanksgiving to our generous God and to be inspired by the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to view our many gifts as blessings. Christian stewards seek ways to share what we have been given for the good of others. One way you can do that is by helping to ensure the future vitality of our Church with a planned gift through your estate.

The Office of Planned Giving at the Diocese of Rockville Centre is dedicated to serving all the ministries of our Diocese including: your parish, the seminary, a diocesan high school or elementary school or various other programs.

Throughout my life I have worked to strengthen our Church community by sharing the gifts that God has blessed me with, and by sharing His message of Love. Leaving a gift to my Parish in my will, is yet another way for me to demonstrate my devotion to Him, by helping to ensure that future generations will experience faith-filled lives.

What is a Planned Gift?

Any gift made during a lifetime as part of one’s estate, whether by Will, a trust or other means.

Planned Giving refers to gifts made from assets accumulated during one’s lifetime. Usually these gifts are part of an overall estate plan and are typically made by:

Wills and Bequests: Providing for family first, you can support your parish or other ministry through a bequest in your last will and testament or living trust.

IRA Charitable Rollover: The IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER is back and is now permanent! What’s called A rollover is actually a “qualified charitable distribution” that can be made as your CMA gift.

A Charitable Remainder Trusts: Receive income for life while making a major gift to your Parish or ministry.

Gifts of Life Insurance: Transfer the named beneficiary of an existing policy, or purchase a new policy and make your parish of other ministry the named beneficiary. Name your Parish or another ministry as a beneficiary or transfer ownership of a new or existing policy.

Gifts of Retirement Assets: Make the Church the beneficiary of an Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

Patronus Society: The Diocese honors every planned gift donor with membership in the Patronus Society.
