Despite Heavy Rain—Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation 5K Race/Walk Was a Success

Despite the rainy morning on Saturday, March 23rd, the 9th Annual Run for Tomorrow’s Hope, sponsored by Long Island’s Catholic High Schools, returned to St. Joseph School in Garden City. Over 430 individuals registered for either the 1-mile Fun Run or the 5K race. Among them were representatives from 17 Catholic elementary schools, totaling 148 students, 55 Catholic high school students, and 40 Catholic school teachers. We are excited to report that we’ve surpassed our financial goal and raised over $38,000!

Father Matt Browne, Bishop’s Delegate to the Department of Education, bestowed blessings upon the eager runners, while Jaidyn Moodie, an 8th grader from St. Martin de Porres Marianist School, beautifully sang the National Anthem.

The prestigious St. Joseph’s Cup, awarded to the Catholic elementary school with the highest participation, was claimed once again by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School in Bellmore for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, the title of Fastest Catholic elementary school was earned by St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Regional School in Westbury.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Spinelli, Run Director, the 5K Committee, and all those who contributed to the event’s success. Your dedication ensured that the day served as a community celebration in support of Catholic education on Long Island, even in the rain! Thank you!
