87 Religious Jubilarians Celebrate Milestones of Service
The Diocese of Rockville Centre will commemorate 87 religious order priests, brothers and sisters celebrating their milestone jubilees in 2023. The Diocese will honor the Jubilarians with the celebration of a Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Agnes on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 11 a.m.
The Most Reverend John O. Barres, Bishop of Rockville Centre will be the principal celebrant and homilist. Father Garrett Long, S.M. will concelebrate the Mass. Father Long, a Marianist priest who has held various positions at Chaminade High School, Mineola, N.Y. is also celebrating his Religious Jubilee of 60 years.
Catholic Faith Network will broadcast this Mass live on Optimum channel 29/137, Verizon FiOS channel 296 and Time Warner Cable channel 471. Viewers can watch the Mass online at www.cfntv.org.
A Religious Jubilee is the anniversary of when a man or woman entered or professed vows in his or her religious community. The jubilee is an opportunity to gather and celebrate our religious men and women and their lives together.
Bishop Barres will honor women and men religious celebrating their 25th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 75th and 80th anniversaries. The jubilarians include three 80-year jubilarians: Sister Jeannine Boutin, D.W., Sister Grace Keavney, CSJ and Sister Mary A. Tropeano, CSJ.
