Benefits are offered to: Fulltime employees regularly scheduled to work at least thirty (35) standard hours per week and part-time employees regularly scheduled to work a minimum of twenty (28) standard hours per week but less than thirty (35) standard hours per week as determined by the Diocese.
Benefit coverage begins on the first of the month after sixty days of employment. Coverage for your dependents will begin on the date your coverage begins provided you have enrolled them in a timely manner. If you do not enroll during your new hire implementation period, you will need to wait until Annual Enrollment to make your benefit elections.
Benefits with Shared Costs
Medical, Vision, & Hospitalization are provided by Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. Members have the choice of the Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plan with in-network only coverage (except for emergency care provided in the emergency room of a hospital for a covered service) or the Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Point of Service (POS) plan with in-network and out of network coverage. Both plans are available at single, two-person (employee and spouse or employee and child), or family level of coverage.
The Diocese of Rockville Centre also offers two plan options for dental coverage, the CIGNA PPO plan or the CIGNA HMO plan and with either single or family level of coverage.
New York State Short Term Disability (STD); is a benefit required by law, your employer pays for the bulk of the premium: you share the cost depending on the selected plan.
New York State Paid Family Leave (NYPFL) is a benefit required by law, it is entirely employee-funded.
Benefits Paid by Your Employer
Basic Life Insurance (1X Base Annual Earnings); Accidental Death and Dismemberment; Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD) (if you have 10 or more years of service); and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Reduced Group Rate Benefits at Your Cost
Supplemental Life Insurance for yourself at 1x, 2x, or 3x your salary, life insurance for your eligible dependents; Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD) (if you have less than 10 years of service).
Additional Benefits at Your Cost
Flexible Spending Accounts, allowing you to reimburse yourself for health care and/or dependent care expenses with before-tax dollars.
Wellness Incentive
The Diocese of Rockville Centre has partnered with Wellworks For You to provide a wellness program to all DRVC employees enrolled in the medical plan.
Annual Open Enrollment
You can change your health and welfare benefits and/or levels of coverage during the annual open enrollment period which typically occurs around late fall of every year and changes made apply to the following plan year.
Certain changes in your life situation are known as qualifying life event – things like loss of health care coverage provide by spouse or having a baby. These qualifying events give you the opportunity to sign up for a new health insurance plan or change an existing health plan outside of the open enrollment period.
